Bad Dudes

No fair, it’s Bad Dudes. Originating in 2004 from the ashes of Costa Mesa weirdo rock outfit Miracle Chosuke, Bad Dudes picked up where Chosuke left off, expanding Chosuke’s hyper-tech synth-punk into a totally unclassifiable sound. Sarah called it “Party Prog”…but that only covered a percentage of the ‘Dudes repetoire. Drawing from classic rock and roll (Led Zep/VU/Beatles/Stones), 70’s prog (Zappa/Crimson/Yes), punk (Black Flag/ Buzzcocks/Mission of Burma), and 80s & 90s synth stuff (Devo/Brainiac/Daft Punk), they surprised you every time you saw them, usually at the Smell, where they were often seen and heard sharing the floor with locals The Mae Shi, Upsilon Acrux, No Age, Abe Vigoda, HEALTH, Bipolar Bear and many other Smell-y youths. They also played with The Fucking Champs, The Melvins, Big Business, Moving Units, Flying Luttenbachers, Mick Barr, and Antelope, if that means anything to you. Bad Dudes RIP.
